Ensure you write down all the measurements of all the walls and mark down any irregularities of the walls. Basically anything that will affect the shape of the kitchen counter.
Positioning of the windows, balcony, back entrance and the entrance door to the kitchen
Furthermore; determine the height and width of the window; the height of the wall below the window and the depth of the reveal.
Lastly, specify which way the windows open.
Write down the dimensions of the radiators and their position within the room.
Has electricity, water and gas been installed yet?
If so, mark them down in your sketch.
Consider whether your kitchen will be connected with any other rooms in the house, if so, we recommend that you design these rooms in keeping with your kitchen. Additionally think about the amount of plates, pot and pans, glasses etc. you want to store, as all this will determine the size of your kitchen counter.
Are you considering lowering your ceiling? Estimate by how much exactly, this is important information when it comes to installing and positioning of the hood.
Which appliances do you know you will be using in your kitchen and will be stored directly on the kitchen counter?
Which appliances do you prefer to be built in and which will be free standing? Don’t forget to take measurements of these too.
What about your hob and oven? Did you choose gas or electric? Have you decided for a fridge, microwave, hood or a dishwasher etc.? If you have chosen any appliances that you want to incorporate into your kitchen please let us know.
